Research and collaboration

The interdisciplinary nature of Spatial Design encourages the architecture and design students to challenge, develop and further their praxis through collaboration and engagement with academic, public, private & NGO partners, which fosters a rich study environment. The Spatial Design faculty is comprised from a broad mix of architects, designers, and researchers, working both within Denmark and internationally.

Academic collaborators include ETH Zürich in Switzerland, Royal College of Art in London, UK, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Kyoto Institute of Technology & Nagoya Institute of Technology in Japan, GSD Harvard University in the US, University of Copenhagen & BUILD Aalborg University in Denmark.

Within the Institute of Architecture and Space, Spatial Design is connected to a variety of research environments including, Cluster for Spatial Inclusion, Cluster for Housing Research, Cluster for Light in Architecture and Design, Center for Material Studies, and Center for Interior Studies.
