The Devil's Wing

This project investigates the ornamentation of Karl Hansen Reistrup at Aarhus Teater and explores how his ornamental language can be reinterpreted within a contemporary context. Working with porcelain and light, the project results in a lamp for the theater foyer that references Reistrup's ornamental motifs. 

Central to the project is the use of digital tools, which stand in contrast to the craftsmanship of Reistrup. Rather than replicating historical ornamentation, the project uses digital tools to reinterpret the form language of Reistrup.
