Digital metamorphosis

‘Digital Metamorphosis’ explores tension between traditional craft and technology and centers around a fundamental question: 
Does technology kill craftsmanship? 

Traditionalists view technology as a threat to craftsmanship and creative enslavement. However, contemporary research reframes technology as a collaborative studio instrument and demonstrates that digital tools do not diminish craftsmanship but rather expand its possibilities. By requiring the artisan's skill and material expertise to activate these modern tools, the core values of craftsmanship not only preserved but extended.

By exploring a newly developed method my aim is to integrate digital tools with raw materials. In mass production, where warping is considered a flaw, I use it as a medium where a distorted vessel communicates material honesty. Allowing clay to rebel against the rigidity it’s forced into creates both physical and visual tension. The distorted vessel does not hide its process. It is its process.
