Inaugural Lecture: Professor Isak Worre Foged

To mark the appointment of Isak Worre Foged as Professor, the Royal Danish Academy invites you to his inaugural lecture 'Environmental Tectonics'. 

In this inaugural lecture, Professor Isak Worre Foged presents and discusses his research, which examines, develops and tests natural and constructed relationships between humans, materials and environmental conditions. The lecture shifts between theoretical and experimental studies, bridging conceptual models and realworld testing and applications with a particular focus on fibrous materials. The vision is to reshape architecture as an instrument for a future that is desirable for humans and viable for the planet.

The lecture will be held in English, followed by refreshments.

About Isak Worre Foged

Isak Worre Foged, born in 1982, is an architect and civil engineer by training. He is a Professor at the Royal Danish Academy - Institute of Architecture and Space where he founded and leads CEMAS - Center for Material Studies. His research is focused on investigating dynamic relations between materials, humans and specific environments, where thermal and acoustic phenomena are of particular focus, impacting both individual quality of life and society's ability to become viable and desirable.
