Cluster for AI in Architecture

The research cluster AI in Architecture brings together research and artistic development that critically, experimentally, and reflectively explores artificial intelligence in relation to architecture and spatial practice.

The cluster considers AI not only as a new technical tool, but as a technology that is transforming the ways in which architecture is conceived, represented, investigated, and designed. It therefore brings artistic, technological, and philosophical perspectives into dialogue and explores, among other themes, AI in relation to space and materiality, architectural representation, ethics, and knowledge production.

The cluster functions as a cross-disciplinary academic community connecting research, artistic development, and teaching at the Royal Danish Academy. Its ambition is both to develop new methods and practices involving AI and to establish a critical and reflective language for understanding the significance of the technology for architecture.

Through seminars, workshops, research projects, and teaching, the cluster provides a framework for new collaborations and investigations into how AI can contribute to – and challenge – the future practice of architecture.
