Master in Conservation

As a graduate in Conservation, you will acquire research-based and specialised knowledge at the highest international level within the theories, methods and practices of the conservation field. You will develop the ability to critically reflect on the discipline’s knowledge base and to identify and analyse complex scientific issues. In addition, you will qualify to independently assess, select and apply relevant methods and tools, as well as to develop new models for analysis and solutions.

You will gain competencies to lead and participate in professional and interdisciplinary collaborations and to communicate research-based knowledge of conservation to both specialists and the general public. As a graduate, you will contribute to preserving and disseminating our natural and cultural heritage, and you can work as an expert, advisor or decision-maker in museums, archives, cultural institutions, agencies, municipalities and private companies.

Admission to the Master’s programme takes place in even-numbered years. Teaching is organised in alternating cycles between the outgoing bachelor cohorts specialising in:
