Can better housing prevent disease? I am an architect with a background in medicine, testing how architecture in Africa can protect health. In the Star Homes trial in Tanzania, a new house design cut childhood malaria by 44%. I lead the RISK project, which maps urban malaria risk with AI and satellites. In the MBD project, I help hospitals in Zanzibar protect patients from mosquito-borne diseases.
