This project explores how existing veneer tube techniques can introduce new joinery and formal expressions in wood furniture.
With a chair as the vehicle, it shows the structural efficiency and quality of the material while introducing new aesthetic language for furniture design.

What is veneer tube
Veneer tubes are hollow structures made from laminated wood veneer. Compared to solid wood, they have the potential to achieve structural strength with less material and weight.
Why veneer tube
As a designer with a strong interest in material aesthetics, and practising in a time where sustainability matters, I see veneer tubes as more than just a structural solution, but also materials that hold the potential to introduce new aesthetic expressions for wood products.

This is a material-led furniture design project — not about inventing new techniques, but about how to apply existing ones through my own interpretation in design.
