Keep Playing

This project explores how childhood memories of play can be brought forward into the complexity of adult life. It begins from homesickness, nostalgia, and a longing for the simplicity of childhood memories in Myanmar, then transforms these feelings into a study of how play changes throughout life. The work reflects on the contrast between the open, colourful play of childhood and the quieter ways adults play through struggles, responsibilities, and obstacles.

Through garments developed with low-waste, square-based pattern cutting inspired by childhood games, familiar memories and forms are transformed into unfamiliar, new and open-ended structures. The project proposes play as a way to connect childhood and adulthood, deal with changes and move forward while carrying the nostalgia.
