Within the post-industrial landscape of my home, the German Ruhr area, residents respond to its harsh mundaneness with ornamental melancholy. It is the tension between these opposites that provides space for profound meaning and resilience. This collection treats clothing as a form of emotional realism, translating that melancholy into dress as an alternate route to fashion's hedonistic escapism.
