Floor to Furniture reimagines reclaimed wood as a deliberate design strategy rather than a compromise. Centered on salvaged old pine floorboards—a once-neglected but valuable resource—the project investigates how imperfections such as nails, knots, and irregular grain patterns can inform and inspire form and function. Through careful removal and adaptation, the chair embraces asymmetry and irregularity, transforming these inherent characteristics into elements of aesthetic and structural integrity, ultimately challenging conventional notions of perfection in furniture design.

Furniture Design Assistant, Snedker Studio

Assisted in designing a furniture collection for the 3 Days of Design event. Responsibilities included managing inventory and supporting the building and finishing processes of the products.

Furniture Design Intern, Standard Practice

Designed objects and furniture for commercial use, exploring and testing various design directions. Conducted brand and product research while utilizing workshop capabilities for fabrication.

Workshop and Fabrication Assistant, University of Illinois Chicago

Demonstrated the use of power tools and provided prototyping solutions for students, helping them turn their ideas into physical models. Prepared materials for CNC machining, conducted laser-cutting demonstrations, and instructed students on surface modeling techniques using Rhino. Managed 3D modeling tasks and guided students through various workshop processes.

Freelance Designer and PM, Povos Chicago Gallery and Alma, Art and Interiors

Designed brand identity and graphics for galleries and exhibitions. Managed logo and visual identity development, organized team schedules, ensured deadlines were met, and led client communication. Created catalogues under tight deadlines and prepared presentations for meetings, as well as designing exhibitions.
