Within Lunds medieval city ramparts, the old observatory stands in the parks greenery since 1867, and is highly protected since 1993. 2002 it was decided to move operations from the observatory, that left the building empty and abandoned. The bearing cultural and architectural values gives the project a new function. The restoration will result in an astronomy-themed visitor centre and museum.
By examining and investigating the building's inherent qualities and values, as well as its problems and what it takes to update the building to today's requirements, my intention has been to find a suitable area of use as accessibility, which can not only make it relevant in 2000- century but also to register and strengthen the Observatory Park's identity.

The restoration in this project is about taking back history but also bringing it to life. In an effort to make visitors feel involved in an older period.
During the project, I have done a building archeological color survey.
