Cluster for Architecture and Ageing

The Cluster for Architecture and Ageing brings together researchers, practitioners, and partners to develop knowledge and promote innovation about how buildings, neighbourhoods, and welfare institutions can become more age-friendly. 

Its work spans the full diversity of later life, from active and independent living to care-intensive needs, and the many scales at which the built environment connects with everyday life.

The cluster’s premise is that an ageing society is a shared concern across architecture, planning, health and social practice. Through interdisciplinary research, public debate, and international collaboration, it explores how built and social environments together can support wellbeing, belonging, and self-determination across later life.
