Studio ByHAA

Iværksætter
Ellen Simonia Rasmussen

Studio ByHAA is an architectural design studio working at the intersection of design, regenerative architecture and landscape.

Our design approach is rooted in an understanding that all things and scales are connected and we aim to connect architecture with craft, relying on the intelligence of the land and the beings that shape it.

For us, design begins with the land, its textures, its rhythms and its hands. Our practice is about bringing the outside in, both literally and spiritually, emphasising the codependency between the landscape and the beings inhabiting it.

We use indigenous techniques as knowledge base in our design practice. Ancient knowledge of sustainable, regenerative and local methods, merged with contemporary technology.

Together with Studio ByHAA's Egyptian sister, the Cairo based interior design company Byhand African Artisans, we create material driven designs that preserve cultural heritage especially within marginalised communities and craft sectors threatened by globalization.

We believe that the handmade has a capacity to reconnect people with the land, with nature, with a tangible time perspective from where we can feel at ease and feel our nervous systems return to the rhythm of nature
