Reflections of Responsibility

How responsible is each individual for climate change? And how responsible are we as the human race?

Reflections of Responsibility explores the field where human wishes clash with planetary needs. Through a series of black-and-white photographs of Iceland’s rugged countryside superimposed with provocative statements, eight posters confront the onlooker with the difficult dilemmas of climate change.

By juxtaposing scenic beauty with statements on apathy, the project invites reflection: are our daily choices genuine action or are they merely convenient excuses for passivity?

The posters do not depict solutions but act as mirrors which prompt us to reconsider values, challenge our habitual consumption patterns and possibly even imagine a future in which planetary needs take top priority. The project proposes a shift from indifference to responsibility. Perhaps hope is to be found in both individual and collection action.
