Endema

Entrepreneur
Laurits Evald Thingholm

Endema develops a modular system for local landscapes that can be integrated into buildings, public spaces and existing urban environments.

The modules combine a simple, repeatable structure with native and site-specific plant species, soil and natural hydrology. The same system can create different local habitats, establish temporary landscapes or serve as a permanent solution.

By learning from site-specific landscape practices and translating them into adaptable approaches for different contexts, Endema addresses some of the challenges facing cities today: biodiversity loss, urban heat islands, increased rainfall and the lack of green spaces.

In the long term, the ambition is to develop a scalable system where physical modules can be combined with environmental data on microclimate, water and biodiversity.
