Building a Repair Infrastructure for Applied Textiles ([RE]PAIR)

Project period
2026-2029
Project Partners
Copenhagen Business School, VIA University College, Designskolen Kolding, Create2Stay

[RE]PAIR supports the development of repair infrastructures in Denmark and strengthens the inner loops of the circular economy by bringing together leading Danish research institutions with a wide network of public and private repair partners.

With a dual focus on competence building and the development of Repair Business Models (RBMs), the project contributes to establishing repair infrastructures that can support a more service-based circular economy.

Drawing on insights from past and present repair practices and competences, [RE]PAIR explores and develops the repair competences needed to keep garments in use for longer. The project will also develop and prototype tangible repair catalogues that demonstrate different repair typologies and approaches.

Alongside this, [RE]PAIR will develop and test Repair Business Models (RBMs) across commercial and public actors, evaluating the feasibility and viability of different RBM prototypes in collaboration with industry partners.

Project results and knowledge will be shared and discussed with relevant stakeholders through a range of activities, including the annual TRACE TALK, case studies, white papers and academic journal articles.

[RE]PAIR is a TRACE project running from October 2026 to October 2029. Led by Copenhagen Business School, the project brings together the Royal Danish Academy, VIA University College, Kolding School of Design, Create2Stay and a wide network of public and private repair partners.
