AI Imaginaries

Climate change and declining biodiversity will undoubtedly reshape rural and urban landscapes. Imagining how this will actually occur can be difficult, however.

The AI Imaginaries project engages in dialogue with individuals or users to transform abstract, imagined futures into tangible scenarios. The project uses generative AI to present artistic, research-based visions of the transformations confronting the Earth.

The AI-generated images draw on data and scenarios from reports published by the UN Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Denmark’s green think tank CONCITO and others. The project aims to develop a method of using generative AI as a dialogue tool for fleshing out the physical planning process going forward. This will render the green transition more tangible. The images can create visualisations which enable all of us to imagine what the future might look like. Depending on what action we take.
