About Cluster for Interactive Experience
The Cluster for Interactive Experiences is dedicated to making media, interaction, and content development part of the design field, integrating the Royal Danish Academy with new industries and bringing the design methods of the Academy to a larger field. The cluster aims to adapt new design practices to keep pace with the rapid changes brought by advancements in AI and VR, and the media landscape.
Researching digital content creation (spanning games, apps, and time-based media like film, TV, and animation), interaction design, and user studies, and addressing AI and VR, the cluster operates at the intersection between artistic development, practice, and science.
Focal points of the cluster
- Developing new processes and tools for content creation
- We study and create new tools for content generation (e.g., world building, AI, and more).
- We study the history of tools and methods, such as computer-aided creativity, and use new tools for new artistic and commercial experiments.
- Developing new formats for Immersion and Interaction
- We analyse and develop experiences for emerging interactive and immersive formats – including works designed for platforms like VR and AR.
- We analyse and develop experiences for emerging interactive and immersive formats – including works designed for platforms like VR and AR.
- Studying user interaction and media consumption
- We develop the field of interaction design, including user interfaces, user experience, and user profiling.
- We study how to reach larger audiences, including a focus on universal design.
