Stig Hessellund trained as an architect at Aarhus School of Architecture and spent 13 years working as a design architect and project architect at major Danish architectural practices, on a wide range of projects of different types and scales.
His work at Realdania has a particular focus on systemic and cross-sectoral transition towards construction with a lower climate impact and reduced resource consumption, including initiatives relating to bio-based building materials, community-oriented forms of housing, and investigations into what the planetary boundaries mean for the construction sector.
