Admission Process

The course of admission for the Crafts programme includes three steps:

1. An application on optagelse.dk
2. Online admission test with preparation
3. Admission test in Copenhagen

Applicants with highest scores from online test will be invited for a test on Campus Copenhagen.

Offer of study places are granted to applicants with the highest scores after the final admission test.
We offer 16 study places and 1 standby place.

Application deadline is 15 March at 12:00 CET on optagelse.dk.

Below you will find information about each step.

Step 1 - Application on Optagelse.dk

Optagelse.dk is a national application portal, which all applicants must use.
The portal opens each year on 1 February, and deadline for completing your application is 15 March at 12:00 CET. Remember to upload all documents before deadline, and have your application signed and approved. Your Signature page must be submitted to MitAkademi before deadline.

You upload documents on optagelse.dk by attaching them to your application. This is done by inserting a check mark. Please remember to check that all documents are attached. Only when a document is attached correctly it is visible to The Academy, allowing us to process your application correctly.
Note that it is your responsibility that the Academy can see your attachments.

In our website menu you will find Admission Requirements. Here you see which documents you must upload in order for us to determine your eligibility.
Most applicants need only upload high school certificate and some also proof of English proficiency.

Please do not upload CV, motivational letters and proof of educational activities from e.g. folk high schools.

If you finish high school this summer, you can apply for admission. Please find instructions on optagelse.dk.

When you apply for admission to the Crafts in Class and Ceramics programme you may apply for a stand-by place as well. We have one stand-by place on the Crafts programme each year. You apply for the stand-by list by checking the box "stand-by" in your application on optagelse.dk. Read more about stand by on ug.dk.

We recommend:

  • Read through instructions on optagelse.dk thoroughly before you apply. Use the English section of the portal.
  • Apply well before deadline. If required documentation is missing from your application, we will notify you and guide you on how to add documents.
  • Contact support on optagelse.dk if you need help when filling in your application.
  • Check your receipt from optagelse.dk to ensure that your application is received and complete.
Step 2 - Online admission test with preparations

In 2024 an online test will substitute our home assignment for the Crafts programme. The online test will take place 7 April from 9 to 17 CET.

Participation is mandatory for all applicants for the Crafts in Glass and Ceramics programme.

A brief description of portfolio and video formats you find below.

The online test requires access to computer and a stable internet connection.

Purpose of online test

Our purpose with the online test is to identify which applicants we want to invite for an additional onsite test in Copenhagen. We will invite the applicants with the highest scores.
