Projects Generative Explorations into Baroque Helical Columns This work consists of a series of fragments of 3D printed ceramic elements that are informed by Baroque Solomonic columns. The Historicist and the Algorithm The Historicist and the Algorithm is a practice-based research project undertaken to explore how ‘digital architecture’ can formally respond to historic architectural context Textile Column A practice-based research project exploring the decorative and functional aspects of 3D printed clay as a cladding material for structural steel. Wood Compositions - Thermal The project investigates how we can understand and create thermal design with inhomogeneous wood structures considered wastewood today Mycelium Acoustics The project investigates the acoustics of mycelium composites. Poplar Acoustics This project presents the investigation and proposition of acoustic tectonics in architecture. Wood Textile Hybrids – Structural This study examines composite compositions based on fiber-based materials. Hemp Acoustics This study investigates and proposes design and fabrication methods for hemp-based heat-pressed acoustic tiles. Wood Hybrids – Thermal III The development of a thermal form-active composite, based on Oak-Paulownia-Flax materials is presented. Therma Testa This study investigates and demonstrates a method for the development of thermal clay tiles with cooling properties. Lightn’ Porcelain This research project explores the integration of organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) with 3D-printed porcelain to create new material atmospheres Crafting Ceramics through the Use of Virtual Reality The project focuses on how virtual reality is suitable to link to the process of throwing vessels within ceramic crafts Human-Material Dialogues Through the Use of Robotics This research investigates craft learning that supports students within architecture by applying human–material dialogues when using robotics. Filigree Robotics 'Filigree Robotics' experiments with a combination of the traditional ceramic technique of ‘Overforming’ with 3d Laserscan and Robotic extrusion technique.
