The following documents must be uploaded:

  • Portfolio (maximum 15 MB)
  • Transcript of Records
  • Curriculum Vitae/Resumé
  • Letter of Motivation
  • Copy of passport or identification card

Modules

Information regarding modules available to exchange students can be found on our website. Please see under "Modules" on the right hand side menu.

Semester Dates

  • Autumn semester: 1 September – 31 January
  • Spring semester: 1 February – 30 June

It is imperative that students remain on campus until the conclusion of the semester and participate in all examinations to receive their credits and grades.

Limited Availability

Due to a limited number of study places, acceptance into the exchange programme is not guaranteed.

We frequently receive more applications than we can accommodate. Therefore, it is essential that students demonstrate a strong interest and relevant background in the specific study area. We strongly recommend that students tailor their portfolios and motivation letters to the study programme they are applying for.

Please note that partner institutions may nominate a student for only one semester of exchange at the Royal Danish Academy.

Extensions of the exchange period are not permitted.

Applications to the Department of Crafts: Glass and Ceramics

Applications for exchange in the Department of Crafts are only accepted for the autumn semester.

Workshops

Exchange students will have access to workshops, laboratories, and collections associated with their study programme. However, students are required to complete an introductory course in several workshops and laboratories to ensure proper technique, craftsmanship, and safety.

Safety shoes are mandatory in nearly all workshops.

Language Requirements

Applicants to our English programmes are not required to submit a TOEFL/IELTS test but must possess a high level of proficiency in English.

Non-Danish-speaking students may enroll in Danish programmes with guidance provided in English, although instruction will be conducted in Danish.

Accessibility for Students with Special Needs

Please be aware that due to the protected status of many of our buildings, accessibility for students with special needs (e.g., wheelchair access) is limited.
