Costs for the architectural education

Students at the Royal Danish Academy must expect expenses for materials, literature, study trips and software. The amounts we indicate are an estimate of the expected maximum expenses for the education. Costs may also be lower than the stated amounts and may vary between programmes and semesters.

Computer and software

At the start of your studies, we expect you to have a laptop (PC/Mac). You don't need to buy a new computer: start with the one you already have and have and assess along the way whether you need a new one.

The academy provides programs such as the Office suite, AutoCad and Revit, and you can get cheap student licenses for the Adobe suite and Rhino. In addition, the Academy has computers with special software for the various disciplines.  

Study trips

In the bachelor's programme and in the master's programme there is one or more study trips. Costs for the study trips vary according to destination, but have a total maximum cost of DKK 8,000 for the bachelor's degree and DKK 8,000 for the master's degree. If the expenses are higher, joint funding is sought via foundations and sponsorships.

Materials and literature

Costs for materials will vary depending on which materials you choose to use in your projects. You can expect to complete the courses within the following framework:

Bachelor in Architecture

Costs for literature and materials, incl. materials for bachelor's project: max. DKK 12,000.
Candidate in architecture

Costs for literature and materials of 1. -3. semester: a total of max. DKK 4,000 Expenses for graduation project: max. DKK 3,000
