Social Security Number (CPR)
What is a CPR Number
A CPR, or Civil Personal Registration, number is the Danish form of social security number. The CPR system contains the name, address, marital status, place of birth and other basic personal information of all residents in Denmark.
Once registered you will be allocated a CPR number which is unique to you and can be used in Denmark as an ID number.
All public authorities use the CPR system and some private companies may also be entitled to ask for your CPR number, for instance when you want to open a bank account.
How to Register for a CPR Number
Registration is mandatory and most of the Academy's international students living in Copenhagen area will apply through International House Copenhagen
