Graduates of the Urbanism & Societal Change programme pursue relevant and impactful careers in architecture, urbanism, and related fields both in Denmark and internationally.

Graduates acquire a broad range of professional and conceptual skills, enabling them to work across multiple scales and address diverse spatial challenges. Graduates are expected to be innovative, engaged, and proactive practitioners who can identify emerging agendas, continuously learn, and adapt their practices and approaches to meet the evolving challenges of our changing societies and environments.

Key competencies developed through the programme include research methods, architectural and urban design based on research insights, operational knowledge of planning procedures, strategic and systemic thinking, and experience in multidisciplinary processes.

In recent years, graduates have built careers in a variety of contexts, including:

  • Architecture and urban studios working across scales, such as Vandkunsten, COBE, SLA, Urland, Lundgaard & Tranberg, Henning Larsen, BIG, Morris and Co, and Herzog & de Meuron
  • Urban consultancies such as Gehl Architects
  • Think tanks including Dark Matter Labs and the Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies
  • Research and academia, beginning with PhDs at institutions such as Aalto University, the University of Copenhagen, and the Royal Danish Academy
  • Public sector roles with organizations like the Copenhagen Municipality, other Danish municipalities, and the Greater London Authority
  • Starting up their own independent, experimental practices in cities like Copenhagen, Riga, Beijing, Berlin, and London.
