Detailing resilience
How can innovative approaches train and equip graduates to overcome environmental challenges?
From 2021 to 2023, the master’s degree programme was involved with the theme: from relative to absolute sustainability investigating different scales of holistic material and detailing solutions that can re-establish the sustainable balance between humanity and nature. The students translated the concepts and data underlying the Planetary Boundary Model into practical solutions through building elements and new assembly methodologies that were tested and refined in prototypes.
This project by Sander Løkkegaard Benner depicts a proposal for a housing project with a load-bearing structure made of reclaimed wood and a façade detailed for resilience. It shows how the master’s degree programme Architectural Technology approaches the development of intelligent building practices, the use of circular materials and new uses for end-of-life materials.
