Your application from A to Z

When applying for the Crafts in Glass and Ceramics programme you will encounter two platforms: optagelse.dk and MitAkademi.

On optagelse.dk you register as an applicant and upload necessary documents, i.e. high school diploma, transcripts, language test.

On MitAkademi the academy posts messages for you regarding your application. Finally you need to sign up for the admission process on MitAkademi, which is mandatory if you want to carry on as an applicant.

We do not send e-mails.

Please go to Dates and Deadlines and Admission Process in the menu for detailed information.

Step 1: optagelse.dk – Apply and Upload Documentation

You register as an applicant for an academy education on optagelse.dk which opens each year 1 February.

Please use the Danish section for Danish taught programmes and the section in English for English taught programmes like Crafts in Glass and Ceramics.

You registration on optagelse.dk must completed and signed by no later that 15 March at 12:00 CET. For applicants who do not hold a Danish MitID a Signature Page will be issued.

Applicants with Signature Pages should notice that deadline for submission on MitAkademi of Signature Page is also 15 March before 12:00 CET. This applies to most foreign applicants.

Optagelse.dk has issued guides for applying, and they offer chat service and technical support during the entire application window.

After completing your application a confirmation note will be issued to you.

This note is proof that you have applied, but it is not proof that you have uploaded all necessary documents or attached your documents to the educations that you are applying for.

You attach a document by inserting a check mark; please notice that only attachments with a check mark are visible to the academy.

In the menu section Admission Requirements our requirements are listed. We have no check list as the list of necessary documents varies from applicant to applicant depending om background, former education, country of high school diploma and much more.

In general:

Usually applicants with a Danish high school diploma issued after 2005 need not upload anything.

Applicants with a foreign high school diploma need to upload diploma/transcript, and possibly language test. Please go to menu section Admission Requirements.

As mentioned earlier this Signature Pages needs to be uploaded to MitAkademi before 15.3.
Please notice that the Signature page resembles the above mentioned confirmation note, and they are not to be confused.

You need not upload: Motivational letter, CV, portfolio.

Advice on optagelse.dk

  • Go through the guides and information from optagelse.dk thoroughly before applying.
  • Apply in good time; this way we will have time to help and guide you properly.
  • Contact support on optagelse.dk if you need assistance of a technical nature.

Step 2: MitAkademi - Communication

MitAkademi is your platform for communicating with the Academy. We do not use e-mails.

A few days after applying at optagelse.dk, you will receive an e-mail from the Royal Danish Academy with log-on-information to MitAkademi.

It is important that you log on promptly, as all messages for you will be posted on MitAkademi only.

A message can be vital for your application status, and you will only be given a narrow window to answer or upload additional documents, if application deadline has passed. If you fail to do so, you might not be able to proceed as an applicant.

MitAkademi will notify you whenever there is a message for you.

The online admission test will be conducted entirely on MitAkademi.

Advice:

  • Check your log on to MitAkademi immediately after receiving the e-mail with log-on information from the Academy.
  • Contact us immediately if you have log-on issues. optag@kglakademi.dk

Step 3: MitAkademi - Admission Process for Crafts

Participation in the admission process, which is mandatory, requires that you have applied on optagelse.dk before deadline. And that you have uploaded your Signature page if you need to do so.

You also have to sign up for the online admission test on MitAkademi. See deadline under Dates and Deadlines.
If you fail to sign up for the test, you cannot proceed as an applicant.

Information about the admission test and list of what to prepare will be on our website. See menu section: Admission Process.

Step 4 - MitAkademi - Offer and Acceptance of Study Place

Offer of study place:

If the Aademy offers you a study place, we will post it on MitAkademi. You have to accept or refuse our offer within a short timeline. 2-4 days.

See Dates and Deadlines.

If we do not offer you a study place, you will either receive an offer of study place from another institution or a rejection letter from KOT – Den Koordinerede Tilmelding.

Accept of study place:

After accepting you will reive a series of information on study start, schedules, log-on-information to other Academy platforms and more.

You will also be asked to upload a photo for your access card for Academy facilities.
