Find an intern

An internship with a student from the Royal Danish Academy can help develop new ideas in your organization and gives you knowledge and inspiration from the Academic world. Internships are mandatory to all students at the Royal Danish Academy.

Internship

You can post an internship add on the Royal Danish Academy's digital board by using the link in the menu on the right. Before doing this, we ask you to read about the internship rules as well as internship periods for the different programmes.

The next internship period for the architects and designers at the Royal Danish Academy is in the spring 2025. If you want to collaborate with a student in the autumn, you can post a job on the board for a bachelor having a break before the master's degree or a student job for a student. Students at CRAFTS in Glass and Ceramic do internships in both the spring and the autumn.
Students at Conservation do internships in the spring.

Internships are always unpaid and full-time.

Below you can read about the overall framework for the internship and about the internship period. More detailed information about the rules and frameworks for the individual programs can be found in the menu on the right. We recommend that you read them thoroughly before having an intern.

Overall frame and rules for the internship

Requirements for the internship host

The Royal Academy's students can do internships at traditional workplaces, but they are also able to do internships in companies and public organisations with a match between the students competencies and the tasks in the workplace. If you want to get an intern, the student must be able to solve tasks relevant to his/her educational programme. Further more, the internship host must provide a professionally relevant supervisor at the workplace, who is responsible for relevant professional sparring with the intern. Read more about the rules in the documents at the right side of this page.

NB: If you are looking for an architectural intern, you must be aware that smaller companies with a total of five partners/employees or less may only have one intern in total.

Salary and SU

Internship is unpaid but SU-eligible. However, the internship host has the opportunity to give the student an acknowledgement of up to DKK 3,000 per month. In addition, the student may receive a financial support for documented expenses during the internship. For example, financial support for transport, rent and phone, that the student can document as expenses in connection with the internship.
