The Laboratorio is the workshop-tower of the Scuola di Palma on Sardinia, a school for creatives located in two buildings by Umberto Riva. With its tectonics and material narrative the site-specific architecture strongly relates to the existing one on site and the surrounding landscape. The use of the workshop-spaces gives form to its furniture pieces, thereby becoming sculptures of inhabitation.

Plans and sections show the interplay of the workshop-stations in the Laboratorio.
A short story showing how the workshop spaces are used by two students of the Scuola di Palma for one day.
Additional planmaterial showcasing the site, the typology and the construction of the Laboratorio.
An investigation of workshops in the fields of ceramics, metal, wood and casting and a studio space serves as a basis for the spatial design of the Laboratorio. Each of the stations is analysed separately, so there is an exemplary plan for all of them. The design is informed by the use of the spaces so it is related to movement, views and practical needs.
