As the perception around nature is shifting, we need to define a more symbiotic relationship between the built environment, the Danish landscape and its travelers. Forms of Reciprocity in shape of accommodation placed around Salten Langsø, where the lodges are designed in close relation with existing phenomena, to create access and awareness towards the underappreciated Danish domestic nature.

The concept of reciprocity that we introduce with the title of our thesis, is defined in our project as the ideology of partnership, where mutual benefits are exchanged. Specifically the relationship between the traveler, the Danish landscape and the architectural structure that we create. Forms of Reciprocity is seen as a catalyst for the Danish traveler to experience the existing natural phenomena of our context, Salten Langsø, where the architecture is the tool facilitating human interaction with nature in a humble and respectful way, seen as a guest on site.
Researching the location for our intervention, we traveled to several places in Jutland, before we decided on the area of Salten Langsø. Choosing this site had very much to do with the fact that this area had the most inaccessible and underappreciated landscape, of all the places we visited.
The Path is the first architectural structure you meet, a wooden pathway that guides travelers on a journey through the landscape.
The five sleeping lodges placed out in the landscape, either located by the riverside of Salten Å or in the forest landscape on the hillside.

The shower and toilet lodge with a connecting sauna, situated in a distance to the other sleeping lodges, near the lakeside among trees and wetland.
The transformation of the existing building, Hangarhuset into a common social space where travelers can come together and share a meal.
