In Absence of Light is a series of sculptures that investigate a tactile and sensuous expression through the ceramic material. The glaze work fosters associations to the forces of nature and, applied on objects with an organic and bodily form language, the sculptures invite the spectator to reflect upon our connection to the world.

Each sculpture contains a composition of openings to evoke curiosity towards also investigating the inner form of the objects where an interplay between light, shadow and ceramic form takes place.

As a series, the objects invite the viewer to immerse themselves through their own movements into the materiality of ceramics in their three-dimensional, physical presence.
