Qualifying Exams from other countries

This page applies to applicants with high school diplomas from outside the Nordic countries.

We distinguish between high school diplomas of a general nature that are equivalent to a Danish “stx” (3-year high school) and other exams.

A lot of high school diplomas from EU and EØS and a number of internationally recognized exams of the type “Baccalaureat” (like IB and EB) are considered equivalent to a Danish “stx”, and we have no further requirements regarding contents and level of subjects apart from English at level B (See below).

Applicants with diplomas of a vocational nature and applicants with a diploma outside EU must meet extra requirements regarding level of English and Math.

Language 

A specific requirement for the Crafts programme is English equivalent to the Danish level B. For more information see Requirements and Rules.

Requirements for subjects and average 

We have no requirements as to specific subjects or subjects at certain levels or grade point average except for applicants with a vocational diploma.

Supplementation during spring

if your exam does not meet our requirements, you have the right to supplement during the spring, so that you become eligible to apply. This requires that you have registered for supplementation before March 15 and upload a receipt for your registration when you apply at optagelse.dk. You must have passed your supplementation before July 5 at 12 noon, when the application portal closes.
We do not accept summer supplementation.

Document requirements

You must upload your diploma in the original language, and the diploma must be dated and signed. All pages must be included and all content must be legible.
We do not accept electronic transcripts from student portals or similar.

Pre-assessment

The Academy offers pre-assessments of foreign high school diplomas as well as level of English. You apply by e-mailing us. Please attach diploma, transcript and other relevant documentation to optag@kglakademi.dk before 1 January. We aim at processing all applications before 1 February.
