Tema: Vinduet
At 'Whole and Part', we have developed a series of workshops that examine the window through various artistic approaches, including precise formats and suggestive techniques such as drawing, modelling and creating tools.
We also introduce different crafts and techniques, like the plasterer’s work with templates in wet plaster or how the boat builder uses steam to bend wood. These introductions free up the students, who quickly start generating ideas via an analytical, dynamic and intuitive process that opens the task and challenges and develops students’ sometimes conventional notion of what architecture is.
Through an intense, productive process of experimenting and artistic and creative processes, the students not only develop their individual and personal artistic expression in modelling and graphic techniques but also experience significant personal growth. The workshop culminates in an exhibition where the students, as co-curators, strengthen the feeling of having created an artistic piece that is ready for the public assessment.
