Shards
The project explores shards, showcasing their intriguing surfaces and shapes when reimagined in new compositions.
Shards urges viewers to appreciate what is usually discarded, presenting shards as objects worthy of acknowledgement. Through intuitive experiments and critical analysis, the project demonstrates how artistic reflection is transformed into concrete action. Cultural and aesthetic research and ongoing experimentation enhance the understanding of shards as cultural and aesthetic artefacts.
The artistic methodology involves reflective dialogues and experiments. Intuitive tests of composition and surfaces, for instance, show nonverbal reflection between the shard and the maker. Critical analysis of the experiments and their aesthetic quality reflects the intuitive process. The interaction between the intuitive process and critical reflection is crucial for the project to acquire aesthetic depth and become meaningful and intentional. The artistic methodology is evident in process and product, transforming artefacts that are perceived as broken into sculptural objects with artistic intent.
