The project seeks to revitalize Pumpstation Kløvermarken into a cultural community space for the northern part of Amager. The intention is to give the old, historic building a new relevance, seeing it as a catalyst in the development of the area. The intervention is an added layer to the interior, a movable textile ceiling enabling spatial divisions, acoustic regulation and change of atmosphere.

The pump station, located on Amager, was constructed in 1901 as the main station in the new underground spill water system. Today it is owned by Hofor, but since 2019 it has been empty and without purpose.
The atlas of the pump station is a registration and analysis of the building's architectural and historical elements. The intention with the production of the atlas was to create an inspirational driver for the concept development - A driver that could ensure a site-specific design solution. The atlas was also a way for us to get to know the building since we had limited access due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
1/10
The project has been process-driven, focusing on materiality, tectonics and sketch models.
1/10
Drawings and visualisations of our textile ceiling in the machine hall of the pump station.
The second atlas have been concerned with our addition in the space, pointing towards the textile, spatial concept.

It investigates the curtain from three perspectives; a theoretical, historical/cultural perspective as well as a tectonical point of view.
The project embraces both a context scale, a spatial scale and detail scale, but emphasizing the detail scale has been a strategy throughout the project.
