Set in Oslo, the project creates a research center for architecture, made for conducting experiments in a 1:1 scale. Through research, the project aims to connect architects with a variety of professions, and users from the local community of Tøyen. This will create a synergy of people and spaces, working together to create innovative solutions to societal and environmental challenges.

This mapping includes an urban analysis of the city of Oslo, the neighborhood of Tøyen and the site of the research center and its actors.

1/10
A model, placed in the community center, can be used to actively involve the community throughout a process.
The research center for architecture presents the possibility for new constellations of collaboration, leading to new innovations and activities. These will be constantly changing as different projects start and finish. Here, 4 possible scenarios are explored: Oslo Architecture Triennale, Material Lab, Cultural Event and Learning Environments.
The intervention consists of a transformation of a yet to be repurposed, cultural building; The Munch Museum in Tøyen, and an envisioned research center for testing architecture in a scale of 1:1.
