City and Country

Short about City and Country

'City and Country' is a basic education in architecture with a particular focus on green transition, understanding of scale and relations between city and country. Throughout the study, the city, urban space and buildings are worked on through registrations, analyzes and design.

Scale is not just about simple proportions. The global can be small and simple, and the local can be large and complex. This dual perspective is crucial for a locally rooted, green rethinking of architecture and urban development.

The education in Kalundborg is based on practice, science and artistic development work, and engages directly in the city's development, urban life, urban space, catchment area, administrations and companies. The planning aspect of architecture is illustrated in a very concrete way: One school means something in relation to one city.
