Research Preparatory semester: Creative Biofabrication

Creative Biofabrication

The research preparatory semester is intended as an offer for students who are considering a later PhD programme. The teaching will take place in close collaboration with local and international research and development environments, including the Helix lab in Kalundborg.

Biomanufacturing technology is expected to become one of the dominant forms of production in the 21st century. This new technology will mean major changes across all aspects of society.

Through biomanufacturing, materials and products can be produced from biological sources. It is a core technology that has the potential to solve major societal challenges, for example the transition from oil-based forms of production, transformation of animal-based agriculture, reduction of energy consumption and general decarbonisation.

Offered in Kalundborg from 2026.
