New Book: Fashion as part of the living world

New book by professor at the Royal Danish Academy explores a new notion of the structures that affect our lives with clothing, fashion, and nature.

In Outfitting, a collection of lyric essays and poems, professor at the Royal Danish Academy Kate Fletcher and poet and novelist Helen Mort explores fashion, ecology, and wild landscapes. Their dialogue ranges from gloves to gritstone, and explores gender, the lives of garments, the imperative of change, the cost of adventure and possibilities for fashion as part of, not separate from, the living world.

Outfitting is published by Hazel Press, an independent publisher with a focus on the environment.

The confrontation with the heady fashion industry and consumer culture requires that the design of the future is developed with humility towards nature and bring us closer to it.
