Exhibition: Tints of Venice by Olga Krukovskaya
Tuesday, 16 September, 2014 opens TINTS OF VENICE, an exhibition by architectural student Olga Krukovskaya
Olga about the exhibition:
"Watercolour drawings presented at the exhibition aim to capture the beauty and ageing of Venetian architecture. The permanence of colour in inlaid marble work and blackening of the limestone. Inspired by John Ruskin’s magnificent ‘Stones of Venice’. Selected buildings are depicted with high attention to every detail, to create a visual catalogue of the current condition of architecture that goes in parallel with Ruskin’s focus of work in the nineteenth century when the improper methods of renovation led to the loss of the most remarkable monuments. Drawing is the oldest tool of an architect — how relevant could this technique and skill be now? The works are made during the visit to Venice in August of this year".
