New exhibition opens April 12, 2024

'Danish Design meets Ancient Egypt' is an exhibition showing 20 pieces of furniture ranging from stools and chairs to benches and storage solutions.

 

The designs explore ancient Egyptian methodology and inspiration together with contemporary circularity. Working together in groups, the furniture students designed furniture that will last but also has mechanisms for repair, repurpose and remanufacture.

The exhibition is based on the work of 20 Furniture Design master students from The Royal Danish Academy:

The project has been supervised by Nicolai de Gier and Andreas Lund, Institute of Architecture and Design, The Royal Danish Academy.
