Research

The artistic and scientific research relates to societal challenges and preferably takes place in strong partnerships: with other institutes at the Royal Danish Academy, with other research institutions, with public and private companies and with industry and industry. The research is closely linked with the teaching on the department's bachelor's and master's programmes.

Currently, the institute's research projects are based on themes within sustainability, accessibility, welfare design and privacy. We also work with light, materials and tectonics, interior architecture, representation, virtual reality and strategic design.

Center for Interior Studies explores the interior as a hybrid and multifaceted phenomenon, which in addition to its physical, spatial and design related aspects, is also shaped by and shapes social, cultural, aesthetic, political, economic, religious, virtual etc aspects.
