Natural History Conservation

Conservation of animals, plants and fossils

Short about Natural History Conservation

At Natural History Conservation programme we deal with objects of natural historical origin: e.g. herbariums (Botany), bones (Zoology), minerals (Geology) and fossils (Paleontology) - objects usually associated with natural history museums. We learn about museum history, legislation, systematics, identification, curation (collection care), digitalisation, documentation, preparation, restoration and much more.

The starting point is the structure, properties and breakdown of the various materials (illuminated via chemistry and microbiology), but the focus is always how we not only preserve, but use, our natural heritage in the best way, so that we both now and in the future benefit from it resources.
