Transpositions – Trans-medial Practice in Architectural Education
The project consists of a video montage and a series of still images, and it is part of the PhD thesis 'Transpositions – Transmedial Practice in Architecture Education'.
The project investigates how translations between media affect the creative process and aesthetic statement and how this influences an architectural educational context. The work uses and illuminates a method that continuously alternates between using different media in architectural processes.
Being aware of the different properties of the media, modes of expression and their significance for the creative process is essential in the teaching of Architecture and Landscape. In this work, the artistic method is concretely expressed through juxtaposing photographic recordings of place (site) and material (model and drawing) in a video montage, thereby exemplifying a transmedial statement.
