In the countryside of Skåne, encapsulated by greenery, an abandoned concrete fire station is left in slow decay. Stenberget fire station is said to be built sometime in the 1930s and was used by firefighters with one fire engine until 1972 when it was closed down due to a merger of municipalities. The station has been abandoned for the past 25-30 years.

We seek to revive and transform the fire station by giving this forgotten place a new function and purpose, which is a distillery and eatery. The production of spirits is going to be a small-scale production, where the raw material is grains from local farmers. The flavoring, and usage of botanicals, will be based on what is to be found in the surrounding nature. The distillery will be open for visits, where the visitors will get to experience the production from grain to bottle, and later have a tasting of the spirits together with locally produced food in the eatery. We imagine the audience to be broad, with locals, tourists, and groups visiting, especially during the summer season.

We aim to give the place more appreciation by framing the nature at the site, engaging with local actors, and creating harmonious meetings between the existing station and a new addition.
