The Master Collection is the outcome of an intuition based method to create new ideas. The first part consists of making six seats, in six weeks, in six different materials. The motivation is the process of creating, producing and pursuing the unique rather than the perfect. To throw oneself into the depths of the design process, where nothing is safe and expected, trusting new ideas to emerge.

“Holding on to an intuition: for a designer, it may be the hardest thing there is. So many things get in the way. The demands of clients; the costs and practicalities of production; considerations of marketplace; even awareness of past history and present context, which can so easily make an instinct seem crushingly naïve: all of these forces exert their own logic. Under their multivalent pressures, most ideas are discarded. Those that survive their first moments inevitably change shape. Their raw edges get knocked away, their rough patches smoothed. They start to look more… reasonable.”
