This thesis project has researched an innovative approach to seating comfort, exploring a more sustainable alternative to classic furniture upholstery. The comfort is attained by CNC-milling strategic incision patterns into the solid boards that make up the chairs seat and backrest. Thus, the incisions result in a flectional deformation that allows the chair to accommodate the shape of its user.
