The case subject is an educational garden in Nordvest, where the necessity of cheap and fast production has meant that laminated paper is dominating the aesthetics of the garden. The values of the laminated paper allowing for a personal trace and participation in production have acted as a constraint in designing an identity consisting of new signage for the educational garden.

This project is an attempt to design a system allowing production with little means. The overall idea is to design an identity which also works as a tool, making it possible to produce without being dependent on expensive equipment and outside professionals.

The tool is a magnetic stencil which is designed based on the parameters inspired by the qualities of the laminated paper sign:

1. Cheap and fast production

2. Personal Trace

3. Active participation

Step 1: Create the stencil and choose a scrap material of wood as the body of the sign. Burn the stencil into the wood.
Step 2: Pick up two sticks and hammer them to the wooden plate
Step 3: Place the sign in the garden
