Credit transfer: Professional Bachelor

Below you will find the process and timeline for future applications of credit transfer and the previous cases of credits transfer for the professional bachelor programme Crafts in Glass and Ceramics from 2019, which was the year that the programme was launced.

Process and time line

Credit transfer – do you have credits from previous bachelor, professional bachelor or master studies?

Pursuant Danish legislation, applicants to bachelor and professional bachelor level studies are required to submit documentation for credits obtained on previous bachelor, professional bachelor or master level programmes/courses. This rule applies to Danish and non-Danish applicants. The Royal Danish Academy uses the information about your previous studies to assess if you will have some of the results credit transferred to your programme at the Academy.

If you fail to provide information about previous study results and we later discover that you have passed activities at another higher education, this may have consequences for your enrollment at the Royal Danish Academy.

In your application for admission on optagelse.dk you must inform us about all the educational activities that you have passed previously or are expecting to pass at bachelor, professional bachelor or master level. If you are applying for admission to the Royal Danish Academy in direct continuation of your secondary school degree (for instance gymnasium) it is not relevant for you.

You must inform us about both the courses that you are currently enrolled in and the ones that you have already passed.

The Academy will assess if you will be given credit for your previous studies when you have been offered a study place. This will happen in mid August the year that you have applied for admission.

The procedure 2024 step by step – deadlines and notification

1. You submit your digital application on optagelse.dk and upload all relevant documentation (see below) before the application deadline.

2. If you have been accepted to the professional bachelor programme you must submit missing documentation (if relevant) at MitAkademi before 31 July.

3. The credit transfer committee at The Royal Danish Academy will in a meeting in August assess and determine if you will be given a credit transfer.

4. Before 21 August you will receive an e-mail with information about whether you will get a credit transfer, i.e. if there are subjects and courses, that you have previously passed that will substitute parts of your new programme.

Which documentation do you need to upload?

We need the following documentation from you in order to make an assessment of your previous educational activities:

• A copy of your transcript of records form your previous studies

• A copy of the official course description (e.g. from the course catalogue).

If the transcript and descriptions are not written in English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, French or German then an official translation is required.
